Terms of Service

Effective date: 25 June 2026 · Last updated: 25 June 2026

⚠️ Dose is a platform, not a healthcare provider. Dose is operated by Dose Health (Pty) Ltd (Registration No. 2026/297273/07) (“Dose”, “we”, “us”). Dose is a technology platform that connects you with independent, HPCSA-registered healthcare practitioners and an independent, SAPC-licensed pharmacy. Dose does not practise medicine, does not issue prescriptions, and does not dispense or sell medicine. All clinical decisions are made solely by the independent practitioner; all dispensing is done solely by the independent pharmacy.

These Terms govern your use of the Dose website, apps and services (the “Platform”). By using the Platform you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1. The role of Dose

Dose provides the technology that lets you: complete a medical questionnaire, be connected to an independent practitioner for a consultation, and — if that practitioner exercises their independent clinical judgement to prescribe — have your prescription fulfilled and delivered by the independent partner pharmacy. Dose facilitates these services; it does not provide them. The practitioner–patient relationship is between you and the practitioner; the dispensing relationship is between you and the pharmacy.

2. Independence of practitioners and pharmacy

The practitioners and pharmacy are independent third parties, solely responsible for their own professional services, clinical judgement, advice, prescriptions and dispensing. Dose does not influence, direct or override any clinical or dispensing decision, and does not guarantee that any consultation will result in a prescription. A practitioner may decline to prescribe if it is not clinically appropriate.

3. Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older, a resident of South Africa, and able to enter into a binding contract. You agree to provide accurate, complete and truthful information, including your medical history — your safety depends on it.

4. Not for emergencies

The Platform is not for medical emergencies. If you have an emergency, call 112 (mobile) or 10177 (ambulance), or go to your nearest emergency department.

5. Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.

6. Electronic communications & transactions

You consent to transacting and communicating electronically. In line with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA), electronic agreements, consents and records have the same legal effect as written ones.

7. Fees and payment

Dose charges a service fee for use of the Platform and facilitation of your consultation. Any medicine is paid for separately and supplied by the independent pharmacy, priced in accordance with applicable law (including the Single Exit Price regime where relevant). Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider; by paying you also accept their terms. Full pricing, billing and cancellation terms are presented to you at checkout before you pay.

8. Consumer rights (CPA & ECTA)

Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and ECTA apply. Note that the standard electronic cooling-off right does not apply to medicines and certain health products, which for health and safety reasons cannot be returned once dispatched, except where they are defective or as required by law.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Platform, including by providing false information, impersonating others, attempting to obtain medicine unlawfully, reselling medicine, or interfering with the Platform’s security or operation.

10. Intellectual property

The Platform, the Dose name, logo and all related content are owned by or licensed to Dose. You may not copy, modify or use them without our written permission.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Platform is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dose is not liable for the clinical, professional or dispensing acts or omissions of the independent practitioners or pharmacy, nor for outcomes of any treatment. Dose’s total liability arising from your use of the Platform is limited to the service fees you paid to Dose in the three months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under the CPA or other South African law.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Dose against claims arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Platform.

13. Privacy

Our handling of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

14. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or where necessary to comply with law or protect users. You may stop using the Platform at any time. To delete your account, see our Delete account page.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. You agree to first raise any dispute with us at legal@getdose.co.za so we can try to resolve it. Failing resolution, disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.

16. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the Platform or by email, and continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
